Alice and Fabian

New York City

Alice and Fabian chose a quiet morning in Queens for an intimate wedding with just their two closest friends as witnesses. It rained without stopping, but there is a well-known Korean saying that rain on your wedding day brings lasting luck and deep love.

We spent three unhurried hours together, starting with the vows and signing at the City Clerk’s office, stepping out into the wet New York streets for candid portraits, and finishing with a quiet celebration around the table at a restaurant. Simple, personal, and completely focused on what mattered most. Alice and Fabian: thank you for letting me document this quiet milestone. Wishing you a lifetime of love and good fortune.

One of them drinks an espresso martini at the table, looking straight at the camera
In black and white, the two of them walking out of the doors hand in hand
In black and white, leaning against the stone pillar with the park behind them
In black and white, a piggyback outside the clerk's office, one shoe kicked up
In black and white, one carried along the colonnade, both of them laughing
Alice and Fabian just married in the City Clerk's chapel, the flags of New York behind them
One of them walks out into the rain in a black coat over a white dress, umbrella in hand
The two of them coming out through the doors of the clerk's office, both laughing
A kiss on the cheek on the wet pavement, one foot kicked up behind
The two of them against the stone pillar outside, the flags and the wet plaza behind
Carried along the colonnade, both of them laughing
Walking out together hand in hand, laughing, the pavement still wet from the rain
One of them pulls the other back by the hand, both looking straight into the camera
A piggyback along the wet walkway outside the clerk's office
A dip and a kiss on the wet pavement outside
The two of them against the brick wall, arms folded over each other, both smiling
A friend's phone comes into frame while they pose by the doors, one hand held out
Running down the colonnade together, both of them laughing
One lifted off the ground in a hug, hair across the other's face, both laughing
The four of them under the colonnade, their two witnesses on either side
At the restaurant window, one rests a hand on the other's head while they point at a globe
Sitting close in the restaurant window, among the cheese wheels and the pasta
